A bomb attack at a religious school in Peshawar, Pakistan killed at least nine students and wounded more than 80 people on October 27. Peshawar's police chief said the bomb, believed to have been in a bag brought into the madrasah, contained up to 6 kilograms of explosives. The province has been the scene Taliban militant attacks in recent years, but sectarian violence has also killed or wounded people at mosques or seminaries across Pakistan.
