A nine-year-old boy who survived an airplane crash in northwestern Russia has died of his multiple injures.

The death of Anton Terekhin brings the toll from the plane crash on June 21 to 45. Anton's 14-year-old sister, Anastasia, was also among the eight people who survived the crash which instantly killed 44 people, including their mother.

The RusAir plane was trying to land at its destination of Petrozavodsk in the northwestern Karelia region in bad weather when it crashed.
